Radio ad revenue sees 5% increase in H1 2024
New figures released by Radiocentre have confirmed a 5% year-on-year increase in commercial radio advertising revenue for the first half of 2024.
During this period, the UK market generated almost £360 million in total revenues from January to June. This includes £192.7 million for national advertising, marking a 5.6% increase on the same period last year; £60.2 million from local advertising, up by 5.4%; with further increases in branded content and digital revenues.
Commenting on the new figures, Radiocentre’s chief executive Matt Payton says:
“While it’s a bit early to be making end of year predictions, this bodes well for the rest of the year. If growth can be maintained in line with AA/ WARC industry forecasts, we could be looking at one of the best ever years for commercial radio. We believe this highlights the confidence brands place in radio’s ability to deliver reach, resonance and results.”
