Creative Spotlight: Dreams of Colman’s

If it can’t be seen, how do you turn on listeners’ taste buds? October’s Ad of the Month is a tempting recipe of how to do great audio food advertising. Or in this case, great condiment advertising. Colman’s uses theatre of the mind brilliantly because the listener builds their own picture of the scene with the dramatic (and somewhat suggestive) intimacy of the narrator’s voice, keeping us all guessing until the end of the ad when his identity is finally revealed. Yes, he is a sausage!

A simple proposition, “Hot and English, since 1814”, brought to life in a way which made us smile and left us with a craving for sausages and English mustard (Colman’s of course).
