Ashley Tabor among a host of radio family members recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours List
Radiocentre is delighted to congratulate Ashley Tabor, Founder and Executive President of Global, on his OBE for services to the Media Industry.
Global’s contribution to the industry was highlighted in April, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry opened the new Global Academy. Ashley came up with the idea of the Academy to address the shortage of school leavers with the skills needed to work in the broadcast and digital media industries. Students will study vocational qualifications alongside traditional academic subjects.
Other worthy recipients of recognition in the new list include BBC Radio 3 In Tune presenter Sean Rafferty, who was awarded an MBE for services to Broadcasting, as well as BBC Radio Nottingham host Jon Holmes, who received an MBE for his service to charities.
In the wider advertising industry, Cilla Snowball, group chairman and group chief executive of Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO was awarded a Damehood for her services to advertising, diversity and equality. Tim Lefroy, the former chief executive of the Advertising Association (AA) received an OBE for services to the advertising industry.
Hearty congratulations to them all.
