Claims need to be amended to “greener/eco friendlier” or similar and the ad needs to make the reason for the claim clear, in this case because there are no polluting emissions when driven unlike petrol/diesel motors.

We can’t approve ads that encourage or condone listeners drinking more than the recommended daily max. Also “make a weekday a weekend” likely to be a problem because it links alcohol with a change of mood (boring weekday vs. exciting/fun weekday with alcohol).

The BCAP Code states “Motoring advertisements must not refer to speed in a way that might condone or encourage dangerous, competitive, inconsiderate or irresponsible driving or motorcycling. Factual statements about a vehicle's speed or acceleration are permissible but must not be presented as a reason for preferring the advertised vehicle. Speed or acceleration claims must not be the main selling message of an advertisement”.

Ads that include a claim to be number 1/top selling/leading/cheaper than competitors need to include information telling listeners the basis of the claim (e.g. is it based on sales figures? The number of stores? Turnover?) and to tell listeners how they can access the information to verify the evidence for themselves. E.g. “We sell more pies than anyone else.
