Cannabidiol (CBD) and Cannabis Products
Cannabidiol (CBD) products may be advertised on an availability-only basis. That is to say that no claims, either explicit or implied, may be made for them.
At present there are no authorised health claims, or medicinal claims, for CBD. CBD is not a licensed medicine.
Prior to advertising, advertisers must provide evidence demonstrating that the products sold contain less than the legal limit of THC, which is 1mg per packaged item.
Cannabis is not a licensed medicine and is only available legally in the UK by prescription. Unlicensed medicines, and prescription-only medicines, cannot be advertised to members of the public. Companies, clinics and services that exist solely to provide cannabis prescriptions to members of the public, by extension, are also prohibited from advertising.
